Essaouira P6: Cape Sim

Cape Sim is a dramatic headland south of Essaouira, reached by a rough track through coastal argan forest and sand. A quad bike tour to Cape Sim from the area around Sidi Kaouki - a small surf village roughly 25 km south of Essaouira's medina - covers terrain that no normal vehicle can access: soft sand tracks through argan trees, exposed dune faces above the Atlantic cliffs, and the rocky cape itself with views back toward Essaouira on a clear day. The ride runs for approximately 2 to 2.5 hours of active riding time on 125cc ATVs, with a guide leading the group. The cape is one of the most remote and scenically striking points on the Essaouira coast; it sees very few tourists compared to the busy medina. Helmets and goggles are provided. The Essaouira wind can be strong along this stretch, especially from late morning; an early departure is more comfortable. Quad experience is not required but riders need to be comfortable handling an ATV on loose sand and occasional steep descents. This suits active travellers using Sidi Kaouki as a surf base who want a different outdoor activity that covers real ground off the beaten track.
