What this 2 tour involves.
Taghazout, a fishing village 20 km north of Agadir, has been a surf destination since the 1970s and now hosts a cluster of surf schools along its beach breaks. A standard beginner lesson here runs 2 hours and begins on the sand with instruction on paddling technique, pop-up mechanics, and basic wave reading before entering the water. The beach break at Taghazout Bay is typically forgiving for beginners - wide sandy bottom, consistent small-to-medium waves, and a gradual depth that allows instructors to assist from beside you in the water. Wetsuit and board are included in the session fee; Taghazout runs cool Atlantic water year-round, so a 3mm wetsuit is standard even in summer. The best learning windows are early morning before the onshore wind picks up, typically 8 to 10am. Most operators offer MASP or ISA-affiliated instruction and provide a beginner longboard. One lesson is enough to stand up on the board for most people; to progress to reading and choosing waves independently, at least 3 to 5 sessions are needed. Not suitable for people with shoulder or back injuries that limit paddling. Minimum age is generally 8 to 10 years.
