Cookie Policy
Last updated: May 2026
This policy explains the cookies and similar technologies used on exploramorocco.com. It sits alongside our privacy policy and affiliate disclosure.
What Cookies Are
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They allow the site to remember your preferences (e.g. language, accessibility settings) and help measure how the site is being used. Some are set by us; some are set by third-party services we embed.
Cookies We Set Directly
None for tracking. Explora Morocco itself does not set advertising or analytics cookies. The only cookies that originate from this domain are strictly functional — for example, remembering whether you have dismissed a banner.
Third-Party Cookies
The following third parties may set cookies on your device when you interact with their elements on our site:
Google Analytics 4
We use GA4 to understand how visitors find and use the site (pages viewed, referral source, broad geographic region, device type). GA4 is configured to anonymise IP addresses and sets the following first-party cookies on your device when you visit: _ga, _ga_* (analytics session). These cookies persist for up to 2 years and are used purely to count unique visitors and measure engagement.
You can opt out of GA4 by installing the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
Affiliate Booking Platforms
When you click an affiliate link to a tour or booking platform, the destination site (Viator, GetYourGuide, Booking.com, World Nomads) may set cookies on your device to attribute the click to Explora Morocco. These cookies are essential to how affiliate commissions work — without them, the platform would not know we referred you, and we would not earn the small commission that funds the site.
The price you pay is identical whether the cookie is set or not.
Embedded Content
If a page on Explora Morocco embeds content from a third-party service (e.g. a YouTube video, a Google Map, a Viator booking widget), that service may set its own cookies under its own privacy and cookie policies. We do not control these cookies; please consult the relevant provider's policy.
Managing Cookies
You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers let you:
- See what cookies are stored and delete them individually
- Block third-party cookies entirely
- Block cookies from specific sites
- Block all cookies (this will break some affiliate functionality and most modern websites)
How-to guides for the major browsers:
Do Not Track
Some browsers transmit a "Do Not Track" signal. Because there is no industry consensus on how to interpret this signal, our site does not respond to it differently. We instead rely on the minimal-tracking approach described above.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as our use of cookies changes. The "last updated" date above will reflect any changes.
