A camel riding excursion operating from the dune and beach area south of Agadir, suited to travellers who want a taste of the activity without the commitment or travel time of a Saharan excursion. The ride takes place on the Atlantic coastal dunes rather than deep desert terrain; the setting is open and scenic, with the Agadir bay visible to the north and the Anti-Atlas foothills inland. Session lengths vary by operator - typically 30 minutes, 1 hour, or a 2-hour extended ride with a tea stop are the most common options. Each camel is handled by a guide on foot who leads the animal and stays alongside throughout; riders do not need to steer or manage the camel independently. The mount and dismount sequence requires holding the saddle handle firmly as the camel lurches forward and back while rising from a kneeling position - this surprises most people but is entirely safe. Children from around age 5 can ride with a handler present. This tour is suitable for all fitness levels and requires no physical preparation. Hotel pick-up from Agadir's main accommodation area is generally included.
